Using SQL 2 Excel in Joomla backend PDF Print E-mail

The SQL 2 Excel component allows you to define multiple Worksheets based on SQL queries, then assemble the desired Worksheets into a single Excel Workbook.

You can download the Workbook directly from the Joomla backend. You don't have to make these spreadsheets available in the frontend if you don't want to. You can use it as an administrator's tool if you so desire.

We don't have any live demo of the backend interface, buit please see the screenshots below. You can always Download and try it out for yourself.

@Mike: In the backend, create one or more Worksheets. Then create a Workbook, and add your Worksheet(s). You can download the Workbooks in the backend using the "Download" links which are located on the right hand side of the Workbook list in the backend.

@Robert Duke: Yes it does work in Native 1.5 (and in Legacy Mode).

You setup one cron job which triggers the schedule handler. You can then setup as many schedules that you want in SQL 2 Excel. One schedule can sen emails to one person, another schedule sends two other reports to a group of persons and so on...

You can also use rule based execution on these schedules. For example, you only send out a specific schedule when you have got more than 1000 hits on your website the last day etc. You can also use rules to define to run certain schedules at certain days of the month/week, or hours of the day etc etc..

More info about the scheduler:

I am using chrono forms and need an SQL to Excel program that will take all data, from user forms, and convert to an Excel spreadsheet...does this program do that?

@JtB: SQL 2 Excel can generate Excel spreadsheets from ANY data that you have in your database. I don't have Chrono Forms, but I assume it stores the submissions into one or more database tables. If that's the case, then you can use SQL 2 Excel to generate Excel spreadsheets with the data that was submitted through Chrono Forms. You will however need to write one or more SQL queries to grab the data that you need.

@JtB: Well, which SQL query to use depends on how you configured ChronoForms I assume. Which form data that you want to grab, which fields you have defined and which data you want to display in the Excel spreadsheet and so on. You have to look at the database tables, and figure out how the data is stored, then write a SQL query that grabs the info that you want.
